Montgomery County Recreation participants may have the secret to living a
full and vibrant life! Just ask Rita DiLazzara who celebrated her 103rd
birthday with a special party given by the Clara Barton Community
Recreation Neighborhood Senior Program on January 23.
The birthday celebration included residents of the community, members of
Clara Barton Senior Sensations and invited guests including County Executive
Ike Leggett and Montgomery County Recreation Director Gabe Albornoz. The County
Executive wished Ms. DiLazzara a happy birthday and presented a commemorative
certificate honoring her special day. Rita spiritedly reassured Leggett that
she was looking forward to many more birthday celebrations.
The Clara Barton Community Center Senior Neighborhood Program is one of the
11 Montgomery County Recreation Active Adults Programs across the County. The
Department also features five Senior Centers which offer dynamic, five
day-a-week programming dedicated to serving the interests and needs of active
adults ages 55 and older.
