FEET Trip to Frank Lloyd Wright’s Falling Water and Kentuck Knob in Pennsylvania

Seniors are welcome to join local families and adults on this day trip to explore the works of renowned architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. When a successful Pittsburgh family, the Kaufmans, hired Wright to build a vacation home with a view of a waterfall on their mountain property, they were surprised to review his plans that involved a house that extended over the waterfall! Falling Water is an incredible vacation home that incorporates elements of the surrounding nature not just in the architecture, but in minor home decorating and design details. Kentuck Knob is a small, hexagon shaped one-story home located near Falling Water that Wright designed as part of his mission to build smaller, affordable homes for common folk. This home includes an open floor plan, cantilevered overhangs, and elements of nature within the design. An amazing sculpture garden awaits visitors outside after the short home tour. This trip includes lunch at the Falling Water café.
