Why Does a Fall Matter? Learn More at Your Local Senior Center in September
September is Fall Prevention Month and all month long we will be offering programming to help prevent falls. Falls are the leading cause of injury-related hospital visits for seniors age 65 and older in Maryland. Falls threaten independence and quality of life for older adults, plus they can be costly! Learn about the major risk factors tied to falls including lack of exercise, vision problems, side effects of medication, and home environment. Golden Aires Band at Damascus Senior Center
Your toes will be tapping and your fingers snapping to the sounds of big band music. This event is free. Join us September 11th at 1:00 pm.

National Family Fitness Day at White Oak Senior Center
On September 28 kids, adults and seniors will come together for fun, fitness and activities during this inter-generational event all day. What better way to teach kids the importance of fitness than to have the whole family participate? Free

Computer Tutoring at Long Branch Senior Center
Do you want to be able to stay in touch with your grandkids through email? Interested in learning more about the Internet? Join us Wednesdays from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm for personalized computer tutoring. Learn about email, how to navigate the Internet, word processing, online games and more! Free

One Man Band will WOW at Schweinhaut Senior Center
Jess Palidofsky will wow the crowd as he plays songs from the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s using a piano, guitar, and harmonica. Enjoy your favorites from Rodgers and Hammerstein, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and more. The fun begins at 1:00 pm on September 23rd.  Free


Movies at Schweinhaut

"Chicago" on September 9 at 1:00 pm -  This movie has it all: fabulous musical performances, celebrity scandal and corruption during the Jazz Age in Chicago. Featured performances by Richard Gere, Rene Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones, who won an Oscar for her performance.

"I Am Sam" on September 30 at 1:00 pm - In this movie a disabled single father does his best to raise a daughter with the help of a supportive group of friends. Though Sam is loving and caring, soon his daughter surpasses his mental ability.

Dance Club Friday at Holiday Park Senior Center
Dance to live music, make new friends, and enjoy light refreshments during these festive events. Fee is $5.00 per person.
