Creative Fall Class Highlight for Teens and Adults



Explore your inner creativity and find an outlet through one of our performing, dance, or art classes. Here we highlight just some of these courses.

Voice Acting (1 session, $40)
This course will cover the basics of the growing field of voice-over work for audio books, cartoons, documentaries, commercials and more. Learn about industry basics including preparation, auditioning, where to find work, and samples from working professionals. Participants will record a script to add to their resume.

DANCE!
Urban Line Dance (8 sessions, $60)
Teens and adults ages 16 and up will learn basic dance steps and progress to more advanced dances. Perform the popular dances you see on YouTube and in the clubs. Have fun, meet new people, and get a workout.

Hip Hop Stylz (8 sessions, $72)
Teens and adults ages 16 -28 will study high energy choreography, dance drills, progressions, and improvisational moves of hip hop. Dance to the latest music and get a great workout too!

Tap Dance for Adults (8 sessions, $72)
Ages 16 and up.  Whether you are inspired by the moves of Fred Astaire, Gregory Hines, or the young tappers you see on the TV talent shows, you can learn to move your feet and make your own music with tap classes! This class is held at the Capital View Homewood Local Park

POTTERY!

Introduction to Pottery (10 sessions, $170)
Ages 16 and up will start with the basics of hand building, wheel throwing, decoration and glazing. Learn techniques from a pottery professional in an environment that provides all the necessary equipment and creative encouragement! A $30 material fee is due to the instructor at the first class.

Handcrafted Pottery for Beginner and Intermediate (10 sessions, $170)
Ages 16 and up. Learn the techniques for hand building, wheel throwing, and learn about clay properties, firing, glazing, and underglazes. Participants will make functional and decorative pieces to take home. A $30 material fee is due to the instructor at the first class.

Handcrafted Pottery For All Levels (8 sessions, $200)
This class is for participants ages 15 and up with all levels of pottery experience. We will work on a combination of hand building and wheel as well as wedging, throwing, build slabs and coils, pinching and modeling. Bring an old towel and $30 material fee for the instructor to the first class.

Pottery at Sligo Creek for All Levels (12 sessions, $288)
Ages 17 and up will practice hand building and wheel techniques as well as glazing. Explore on your own or consult with an experienced instructor. All participants have access to a pottery wheel.
