Skateboard fans and inline skaters of all ages can enjoy specially designed
skate spots that are also in close proximity to Montgomery County Recreation
Centers. This means public facilities that cater to older and younger kids
offer relief from the chill or heat, and extend your day of recreation! Parents
can relax or take a class with a younger sibling at a nearby community recreation
center while their big kids explore the skate park or spot. Here are four
skate facilities that are also near County Recreation Centers. While some of
these are not run by Montgomery County Recreation , they are nearby and can add
to your family’s fun!
White Oak Skate Spot Down The Street

The White Oak
skate spot has a variety of ledges, rails, platforms and more for skaters to
work with. The skate spot is just a short walk from the White Oak Community Recreation Center
which offers a wealth of recreation programs and classes. In addition to the Rec center, there are
basketball courts, and playgrounds. The whole family can spend the day at White
Oak!
Ryan’s Inspiration Skate Park Just Outside Damascus Community Recreation
Center
This facility
was built in memory of Ryan Didone, the late son of a Montgomery Country Police
Captain, who died in a car accident in October of 2008. The skate park has lots
of ramps, humps, rails, and more to keep skaters entertained and challenged and
it’s next door to other outdoor fields and courts that are part of the Damascus
Community Recreation Center. The park is open when the recreation center is
open. Skaters are welcome to stop into the Rec center to cool off or warm up,
and grab a quick game of pool or air hockey in the game room!
Olney Manor Skate Park Is Near The Olney Swim Center

Skate Park has 14,400 square feet of skateboarding area including a 10-foot
deep bowl, steps
with handrail, quarter pipes, and
various ledges and rails.
The Skate Park is open to skateboards and inline skaters of all skill levels, age 4 and up. Skaters
age 8 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. After a day of skating outside, kids
can warm up at the indoor Olney Swim Center! Or, why not plan a skate/swim

Poolesville Skate Park Has Playground and Covered Picnic Area
Parents take
note: next summer let your teen get their thrills at the Poolesville Skatepark
while you cool off with the younger kids down the road at the Poolesville
Outdoor Pool. This skate park has a shaded picnic area, playground, and of
course, tons of skate features. Over 6,000 square feet of open-flow style park
including banks, extensions, ledges, rails, step ups and more.
