It’s
easy for kids to get lost in these arts and crafts classes. They get a little
break from the pressures of school and relationships, plus they can work on
their fine motor skills and dexterity. Bringing home a new project at the end
of class is not only rewarding, but learning a new skill is
good for their self esteem.
Kumihimo (1 session, $35)
Youth
ages 12 and up will have the unique opportunity to learn the ancient Japanese
art of braiding strands of silk to make intricately designed cords that are
beautiful and functional. We will work with a round disk,
silk and satin cording, and beads to create an 8-strand piece. We will
also work on finishing projects with wire and clasp. A $12 fee is due at the
start of class.

Sketching with Charcoal (2 sessions, $45)
Teens
ages 16 and up will learn various drawing techniques using vine charcoal, black
conte, umber conte, and white conte. We will do quick practice sketches as well
as more involved drawings as we explore composition, contrast, form and space.
A $20 material fee is due to the instructor on the first class.

Earrings, Earrings, Earrings (1 session, $35)
Youth
ages 12 and up will learn the basics of earring construction including the
necessary tools, making loops, and more. Participants will leave with several
pairs to add to their personal collection! A $10 material
fee due at class.

Homemade Bath and Beauty Products (1 session, $35)
This
is a great class to sign up with a friend or family member! Participants ages
12 and up will learn to make bath salts, moisturizers, toner, body lotion, hand
creams and more. Each participant will take home a basket of products including
recipes to make more! Keep them for yourself or use them as gifts. A material
fee of $18 is due to the instructor.
