Why Does a Fall Matter? Learn More at Your
Local Senior Center in September
September
is Fall Prevention Month and all month long we will be offering programming to
help prevent falls. Falls are the leading cause of injury-related hospital
visits for seniors age 65 and older in Maryland. Falls threaten independence
and quality of life for older adults, plus they can be costly! Learn about the
major risk factors tied to falls including lack of exercise, vision problems,
side effects of medication, and home environment. For more information on this
program call the senior center nearest you. For a complete list of senior centers visit the
senior center page on the Montgomery County Recreation website.
