A Few Things You Should Know About Swim Lessons

It’s no secret that our swim lessons are a favorite among Montgomery County parents! Registration started in August and classes can fill up quickly. To register, please refer to pages 26 - 40 in The Fall Montgomery County Recreation Guide and read the descriptions carefully. Then visit RecWeb and search on the course number for the class you wish to join to see if there are spots available.

Here are a few things you should know before you come.

1. For Aquatots, Waterbabies and Pre-School classes, children who are not potty trained MUST wear separate rubber/vinyl swim pants. In addition, an adult in a swim suit must accompany each student in the water.

2. Swimmers ages 4 and up who are enrolled in Pre-Beginner to more advanced lessons DO NOT need a parent to accompany them.

3. PARENTS: Please do not watch the class from the pool deck. Children are easily distracted and your participation is not required unless your child is enrolled in Aquatots, Waterbabies, Pre-School, or Adapted Aquatics classes.

4. Class fee covers ONLY the lesson and no other use of the facility. No other family member is allowed to swim or use the fitness room unless they have purchased a membership.

5. Participants may enter the locker rooms no earlier than 10 minutes before the start of class.

6. Any questions about the lessons should be directed to the facility where you are enrolled.

7. There are NO MAKE-UPS or REFUNDS for missed classes.

8. Withdrawal policies are strictly followed and apply to class transfers.
