New Healthy Vending Machine Introduced in the County
If you find yourself in downtown Rockville near the Executive Office
Building (located at 101 Monroe St.) and in need of a quick snack, you are in
luck! A brand new healthy vending
machine has been installed in the Terrace level of the building with snacks
that are good for you.
The 2bU vending machine is filled with foods that are organic, vegan, gluten-free, kosher and
especially healthy. The LED screen lets
you review an item’s nutritional value before you purchase.
The eco-friendly machines have a dual temperature zone so you’ll notice
cold drinks are cold while the snack foods are a regular temperature. The
machines also have LED lighting, motion sensor dimmers, and have the highest
energy star rating.
To get customers started there is an information board next to the machine
that lists the snack foods, nutrition information including calories and fat,
as well as how much exercise it will take to burn off the calories.
